OSRAM LED Light for you (LLFY) website launches innovative service

OSRAM Opto Semiconductors' LED Light for you network has been focused on the development of LEDs and their applications, and is now introducing a new service, the Optical Selection Tool. This is a vast database of 350 lens types from seven of the world's largest lens manufacturers and provides comprehensive information to ensure that every application finds the right lens.

Lenses play a pivotal role in LED lighting applications. Depending on the application, they can converge light in a specified direction or spread the light precisely, for example in street lighting applications. The integrated lens is one of the methods to achieve proper emission characteristics, and the second lens provides greater flexibility because the secondary lens can be adjusted as needed.

The LED Light for you network's launch of this service further simplifies the task of finding the right lens for the design of a particular luminaire. The optical selection tool is actually a massive database of all the information needed to select the right lens. For example, you can find a lot of important information, including those lenses that are suitable for those LEDs, how many LEDs can be placed on the back of the external optics, and the material, diameter, and beam angle of the lens. Some network partners also provide other simulation data for lens characteristics on the LLFY website for you to download. In addition, in order to facilitate you to obtain more detailed information, a link to the manufacturer is also available on the website.
