LED backlighting manufacturers such as Yiguang and Dongbei, which supply TV backlights, all set new highs in March. The upstream manufacturer, Jingyuan Optoelectronics, continues to expand production, but will continue to allocate capacity as orders are still in demand.

Liu Bangyan, general manager of Yiguang Production Division, said that the performance in 2010 is promising. In order to support the monitor and LED TV backlight, Yiguang Wujiang Plant will be completed by the end of April, when the monthly production capacity will increase from 100 million to 500 million. All are used as large-size backlights. This year's large-size backlights will account for more than 20% of revenue.

Wu Qinghui, chairman of Dongbei Optoelectronics, pointed out that Dongbei’s orders in March exceeded 600 million Taiwan dollars, and the company’s monthly output value can also reach 900 million yuan. It is estimated that 40% of the production capacity will be expanded in July and August, and the monthly output value of the customer has been promised to reach 1.2 billion yuan.

Downstream demand for LED chips is still strong. Jingdian will allocate capacity to customers from Q2 2010. At this stage, the order visibility of crystal power is more than half a year.
